MNS Exam 2024 : Applications are invited from female candidates who have successfully completed MSc (Nursing) / PB BSc (Nursing) / BSc (Nursing) for the grant of Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service.
MNS Exam Eligibility
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
Qualification and Registration:
- Passed MSc (Nursing) / PB BSc (Nursing) / BSc (Nursing) from an INC recognized University.
- Be a registered Nurse and registered Midwife from a State Nursing Council.
Age Limits: Date of Birth should be between 25 Dec 1988 and 26 Dec 2002 (Both days inclusive). (Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years of age on the date prescribed for the receipt of application).
Physical Fitness: Medical fitness will be assessed as per Military Standards by Military Authorities.

Military Nursing Service Selection Process
Computer Based Examination
- Conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on 14 January 2024.
- Subjects: Nursing, English language, and General Intelligence.
- No negative marking.
- Qualifying marks: 50%.
Interview
- Qualified candidates will be called for an interview in Delhi, subject to available vacancies.
- Medical Examination follows the interview.
Medical Examination
- Physical fitness determined by a Medical Board.
- X-Ray examination of Chest and USG (of abdomen) will be done.
- Pregnancy is a cause of rejection during the medical examination.
Final Selection
- Only medically fit candidates will be sent call letters for reporting to various Armed Forces hospitals.
Travel Allowance (TA)
- Candidates called for an interview will be reimbursed Sleeper class Railway fare.
Military Nursing Service Training: MNS Exam 2024
- Employability: Five years extendable to a total tenure of fourteen (5+5+4) years.
- Emoluments: On completion of pre-commissioning formalities, candidates will be granted the rank of Lieutenant.

How to Apply for Military Nursing Service
- Application hosted on NTA website www.nta.ac.in.
- Apply online from 11 Dec 2023 to 26 Dec 2023.
- Pay Rs. 900/- as application processing fee to NTA.
- Admit card for the computer-based examination can be generated online from NTA website.
- Selection subject to producing original documents at the time of interview.
Document Checklist for Interview
- Matriculation Certificate/School Leaving Certificate (indicating date of birth).
- Valid State Nursing Registration certificate.
- MSc (N) / PB BSc(N) / BSc(N) certificate & mark lists.
- NCC Certificate, if any.
- Character Certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer.
- Proof of Indian Nationality.
- No objection certificate from the present employer, if employed.
- Self-addressed envelope with Rs. 40/- postal stamp.
- Copy of release order if previously served in Military Nursing Service.
- In case of a change of name, copy of Gazette Notification.
