Nationality:

Tibetan refugees who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, with the intention of establishing permanent residency in India. d. Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India.It’s important to note that candidates falling under categories (1), (3), and (4) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. However, Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempt from this requirement.

NDA Educational Qualification:

The educational qualifications required for the various wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) are as follows:

  1. Military Wing: Candidates should have passed the 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, following the 10+2 pattern of School Education or an equivalent qualification from a State Education Board or University.
  2. Air Force Wing: Similar to the Military Wing, candidates for the Air Force Wing also need to have passed the 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, following the 10+2 pattern of School Education or an equivalent qualification from a State Education Board or University.
  3. Naval Wing: For the Naval Wing, candidates should have passed the 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, following the 10+2 pattern of School Education or an equivalent qualification from a State Education Board or University.
  4. Army Wing: Candidates applying for the Army Wing should have successfully completed the 12th class with the 10+2 pattern of School Education or an equivalent examination from a State Education Board or University.

Other Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must not have the following health issues to be eligible:

  2. Deviated Nasal Septum
  3. Hydrocele / Phimosis
  4. Condition of Overweight / Underweight

  6. Piles
  7. Tonsillitis
  8. Gynaecomastia
  9. Varicocele

Body Tattoos:

There are specific guidelines regarding body tattoos:

  1. Any permanent body tattoos, if present, should only be on the inside side of the forearm.
  2. Tattoos on the inside of the elbow to the wrist, and on the reverse side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand, are not acceptable as per UPSC regulations.
  3. Permanent tattoos on any other region of the body are also prohibited.
  4. However, if a candidate belongs to a tribe where tattoo marks on the face or body are traditional, admission will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the customs involved. In such cases, the authorities’ decision will be final.
